Start by choosing a country to volunteer in from the box on the right and then check out the placement available there, the process of getting your volunteering package sorted with  Amka Afrika Safaris could not be easier, just read through the steps below to learn exactly how things will pan out from here on in.

After you have submitted your application you will be assigned your own personal trip planner advisor.

  • First you need to choose a country that you want to volunteer in. At the moment we offer placements in Kenya, Maasai-land, Ghana and Tanzania, but we have plans to expand into other destinations in the next six to nine months. 

    If you click on one of the given volunteering information page on the front page of this site then it will take you to a page that will tell you all about that country and show you the different placements that we offer there with lots of information on it.
     

  • Once you have chosen where you would like to go, you need to decide what you would like to volunteer as; we have a choice of nine different programmes that include; teaching, orphanage work, medical, HIV/AIDS work, sports coaching, music and conservation, special school, women project
     
  • After you choose one of these you will be taken to a page where you can view all the information to do with that programme. This includes things like; food, accommodation, day to day life and other trips that you can take.
     
  • From here, we advise that you follow the link to download the PDF document that is specific to your programme choice. These are 30 to 40 page booklets that have all the information you could possibly want about volunteering with Amka Afrika  safaris. In most cases, your parents will probably want to read this with you!
     
  • After this you can follow the link to the costs rundown section. Here you can view how much your programme will cost as well as everything that is included in your package and everything that you will need to get on top of this.
  • After this you are ready to submit your application! There are links all over the site for you to do this and they all go to the same form. You will need to fill in some basic details about yourself as well about the programme you wish to participate in, so that we can get back to you with the relevant information.
     
  • After you have submitted your application you will be assigned your own personal trip advisor. This person will be responsible for your entire booking, from everything like answering any questions you have, helping you to source flights to giving you important safety information.
     
  • After you are completely happy with everything, your trip advisor will talk you through how to pay your programme fees. We use PayPal to secure all our payments so you don’t need to worry about security. After this, we will be in contact about extra trips like safaris and white water rafting.
     
  • Shortly before your departure we will be in contact to give you some information about airport pickups and safety procedures, from there you are all set for your African adventure!
