3 DAYS KIBALE FOREST CHIMPANZEE NATIONAL PARK TOUR.

Day 1: Drive to Kibale Chimpanzee Forest National Park

Head to Kibale forest national park to drive through Hoima to reach fort portal. The journey will take you through farms, traditional homestead to reach the town that is located amidst the “mountains of the moon” Fort portal. You will reach late in the afternoon to go visit the crater lakes regions near Ndali and later dine and be entertained in some of the cultural dances of the country. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge /Ruwenzori travellers Inn.

 Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking Tour

You will go track chimpanzees in the forest and this will enable you view other primates like the colobus monkeys, Mangabeys, baboons, Bush babies and many more. You will move with a guide who will make your walk informative and productive making it interesting. He will provide information on both flora and fauna.   Have lunch and then in the afternoon you will go for a walk to Bigodi( Known for bird watching) sanctuary for plenty of birds and rare fauna and flora. Dinner and overnight at Ndali lodge or Rwenzori Travelers Inn.

Day 3: Drive Back To Kampala

Have breakfast and drive back to Kampala. You will have a lunch stop and a stop at the equator for photographs to reach in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Africana / Serena Hotel.

NGAMBA CHIMPANZEE TOUR AND BWINDI GORILLA SAFARI

Day 1: Drive to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary

Have breakfast to drive Entebbe to the jetty to transfer you to Ngamba Island. The Island is a chimpanzee sanctuary managed by the Jane Good all Institute. They usually get the chimps from the wild and look after them, most especially those that are infants and cannot take care of themselves. You will reach in time for feeding the Chimpanzee and you will watch them feed. Spend about 1 hour with the chimps and later in the afternoon transfer back to Entebbe. Dinner and overnight at Botanical beach Hotel / Kampala Serena.

Day 2: Drive to Bwindi Gorilla Tracking Park – Gorilla Safari

This morning have breakfast to drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Gorilla forest. This journey will take you south west of Uganda. To stop at the equator for photographs and continue to Mbarara where you will have another stop for lunch and then proceed to reach Bwindi in the late afternoon. In the evening you may go for a community walk where you will be entertained in some of the cultural dance of the community. Dinner and overnight at the Gorilla resort / Buhoma homestead / Buhoma community Bandas.

Day 3: Mountain Gorilla Tracking Tour – Gorilla Safari

Wake up and prepare for the unforgettable experience. You will have breakfast to transfer to the park headquarters for briefing before setting off to the forest to track the mountain. The guide will brief you and at 9:00 am you will set off to the forest for these apes. The time you will take tracking these humble apes is unpredictable however it ranges between 2-9 hours depending on their movement. The activity requires you to go through steep rocks climbing up and down making it tiresome; however the thrill of encountering these giant primates erases the poor memories you went through in trying to find them. Dinner and over night at Gorilla Resort / Buhoma homestead.

Day 4: Drive Back From Mountain Gorilla Tracking Tour

After these extra-ordinary experiences we have to go back to Kampala. Have breakfast and hit the road to Kampala. You will have a stop in any of the districts for lunch to reach Kampala in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Africana / Serena hotel.

HOW TO GET A GORILLA TREKKING PERMIT; BOOKING PROCEDURE
To book a Uganda mountain gorilla trekking permit to Bwindi impenetrable national park and Mgahinga gorilla parks in Uganda one has to go to the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) headquarters in Kampala. The cost of a mountain gorilla tracking is $500 USD for non-Uganda citizens. However, given the fact that these gorilla tracking permits are on such high demand and that one has to book about 3 months in advance to stand a chance of seeing the gorillas it is better to use a travel agency to book these permits.

There Are Different Booking Alternatives and These Include

Long Term Gorilla Trekking Permit bookings (approximately 2 years in advance)

  • The maximum allowed time to book for a permit in advance is 2 years as long as you pay 30% of the mandatory tracking fees. The rest of the money should then be paid 91 days to the date of the gorilla trekking. Late top-up is not permitted however, if you wish to continue with the payments due to some reason you will be required to pay a surcharge of 20%. When the grace period of 7 days elapses you will forfeit your deposit as it is non-refundable.
  • As tour operators we are required to book only 20 permits during the opening day of each month and the rest that are not sold are open to all other tour operators the following day.

 Gorilla Trekking Permit Refunds/Cancellation Guidelines

  • For those tourists who may not have tracked gorillas due unavoidable circumstances the Uganda Wildlife Authority refunds about 50% at the recommendation of the game Warden who is in charge. However, this clause applies only to visitors who are known to have tracked Mgahinga national park or Bwindi Impenetrable National park.
  •  For the tourists who fail to see the gorillas when tracking in Mgahinga national park due to the movement of the gorillas into Rwanda, a full refund will be made. However, failure to see the gorillas for any other reason other than illness when one has gone tracking will result in a refund of 75%. All refunds are made at the Uganda Wildlife Authority Reservation Offices in Kampala.

Upon Cancellation Uganda Wildlife Authority Retains The Following Percentages;

  • 0 – 8 days – no refund
  • 9 – 45 days – 75% (25% refund to client)
  • 46-90 days – 50%
  • 91 days and above – 25% (75% refund to client)

Day 2: Drive To Bwindi Mountain Gorilla National Park

Have breakfast to transfer to Bwindi impenetrable National Park. The park is well known for its gorillas although it harbors others species and birds with over 300 bird species recorded.  You will reach in the late afternoon and then go for a community walk where you will be entertained in some of the cultural dances of the area.  Dinner and overnight Gorilla Resort/Buhoma Community Bandas (FB)

You will go for an evening canoe ride onLake Mburo to see animals and plenty of birds long the shore. Dinner and overnight at Mantana tented Camp / Rwonyo Camp

Day 5: Game Drive

In the morning go for a game drive tracking for more animals in the park. You will retire for late breakfast at the park and then set off to Kampala. You will reach in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight in Kampala

Day Two: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park – Wildlife Safaris

Lake Mburo is one of the easily accessible parks compared to others with species such as Zebra, Impala, Eland and other savannah species and birds like African Fin foot, Papyrus, Bush Shrike, etc. You will go for an evening game drive or canoe ride. Dinner and overnight at Mantana Tented Camp/Muhingo Lodge (High end/luxurious accommodation), or UWA’s (Uganda Wildlife Authority) Tents. 

Day 3: Game Drive Tour Enroute To Bwindi National Park Tour – Wildlife Safari

Have breakfast to game drive enroute as you drive to Bwindi National park. The park is known to harbor half of the world’s endangered mountain gorillas. It is situated in a hilly country side, together with some remnant lowland forest outside the boundary.  You will reach Bwindi late in the afternoon. You may go for a welcome entertainment in some of the cultural dances of the surrounding communities. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla resort or Buhoma community Bandas.

Day Four: Bwindi Gorilla Tracking Safari – Wildlife Safari

Have breakfast to transfer to the park headquarters for briefing before setting off to the forest for gorilla tracking . The guide will brief you and at 9:00 am you will set off to the forest for these apes. The time you will take trekking these humble apes in unpredictable however, it ranges between 2-9 hours depending on their movement. The activity requires you to go through steep rocks trekking up and down making it tiresome. Day Five: Drive To Queen Elizabeth National Park – Wildlife Safaris

Have breakfast to leave for Queen Elizabeth National Park having a game drive enroute to enter the park through the Ishasha sector. You will reach in the afternoon and then go for an evening game drive to see game like buffaloes, bush bucks, bush pigs, Deffassa waterbucks, monkeys and many more.  Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/ Institute of ecology.

 Day Six: Wildlife Safaris, Game Drive Tours, Launch Drive

Take a cup of Tea before dawn if you want, to go for a game drive and catch up with the early risers, and predators trying to get back to their hide outs. This drive will reward you with game like Lions, hyenas, water bucks, bush babies, buffaloes, elephants, Uganda Kob, many antelopes and others.  You will retire from the game drive for late breakfast and lunch at the Lodge. After lunch you will go for launch cruise on theKazinga channel that will recompense you with game like Buffaloes, hippos and birds. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/ Institute of ecology.

Day Seven: Transfer to Kibale National Park

You will have breakfast to transfer to Kibale national park. This journey will take you through Fort portal. The district lies amidst the great mountains of the moon offering you beautiful sceneries.  You will reach the lodge in the afternoon to go chimpanzee tracking in the afternoon. This will help you view other primates too like the Mangabeys, colobus monkeys, bush babies baboons and many more. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge/Primate Lodge/Rwenzori View Guest house/ Kanyankyu Ecological site.

Day Eight: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park – Wildlife Safari

Have breakfast to transfer to Murchison falls national park. You will reach the park in the afternoon to drive directly to the top of the falls where the park derives its name and the Nile its beauty. Here you will see the calm Nile forcing its self through a narrow gorge to fall a distance of about 150 ft down producing a thunderous roar of white water- incredible scenery!  You will then be transferred to board the jetty to Paraa Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day Nine: Wildlife Safaris, Boat Trip or Launch Cruise

Take a cup of tea and go for a game drive before dawn to catch up with predators and early risers. This early morning game drive will reward you with game like jackals, hyenas, giraffe, lion, antelope, elephant, and the Uganda kob and many more. You will retire from the game drive for late breakfast and lunch and then in the afternoon you will go for a launch cruise on the Victoria Nile.  The boat trip will take you to the bottom of the falls where you will view animals like the buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, elephants and plenty of water birds like fish eagles and rare shoebills and many more. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge/ Red Chilli.

Day Ten: Drive Back To Kampala from Wildlife Safari

Early in the morning have breakfast and then drive back to Kampala and have a stop at the Royal drum makers to have a look at the local methods of drum making that have been adopted for generations. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Africana / Serena hotel.

4 DAYS TOUR TO LAKE MBURO, BWINDI NATIONAL PARK.

Day 1: Drive To Lake Mburo National Park

Have breakfast to drive off along Masaka road to Lake Mburo National parkLake Mburo is one of the smallest Savannah parks with plenty of antelopes including the impala from which the name of the capital city of Uganda-Kampala- was derived. You will reach in the afternoon to have lunch and then in the afternoon go for a boat ride on Lake Mburo. This ride will reward you with view of animals and bird sat the shores. Dinner and overnight at Mantana Tented Camp. / Rwonyo camp.

Day 2: Lake Mburo Game Drive and Set Off To Bwindi National Park
