Zanzibar Island known as Unguja is one of two main islands (Unguja and Pemba) that make up the semi-autonomous state of Zanzibar. It is a partner state in the United Republic of Tanzania, the largest country on the East Coast of Africa. Zanzibar is located in the Indian Ocean, about 35KM off the coast of mainland Tanzania, at a Longitude 39 degrees East and a Latitude 6 degrees south of the Equator.

It takes almost 3hrs duration to explore the very fantastic history of this extraordinary site with it’s narrowest streets in the world. This tour gives you an insight into the Swahili lifestyle. This is the full-day Tour that drives you to see the fabrication of Zanzibari doors (at the building site) which are very famous in the world. We then proceed to the north up to Mkokotoni village; Mkokotoni is the famous fishing village in Zanzibar. Here you will see the fish market and busy fishermen who bring their fish from their fishing boats.

The Tour proceeds to Nungwi Village where you see how the wooden dhows and boats are fabricated. The tour ends with Beach relaxation, and swimming in the white sands of Nungwi. On this tour, you can also see traditional Swahili houses in different villages on our way to Nungwi. Our knowledgeable guide will feed you with sufficient knowledge of the traditional lifestyle of the Swahili people and their origin.

This is the only tour that will let you know why Zanzibar is called the spice island. It is organized in the Countryside about half an hour’s drive from the historical Stone Town. With the assistance of our well knowledgeable and experienced guides, you will discover the life cycle and uses of various types of spices, tropical fruits, and root crops after getting detailed information from our guide.  

Learning and watching the typical environment of Zanzibar as well as experiencing Zanzibar Village life is among other things that you are going to benefit from with this Tour. To make the spice Tour more detailed we include the visit to some historical places such as Maruhubi Palace ruins, the Kidichi Persian bath, and the highest point of Zanzibar which is 390 feet above sea level. More interestingly touching, smelling, and tasting several spices and fruits, are among the thing that you are going to do during this excursion.  

 

It hardly takes half an hour driving by motorized boat to reach the wonderful west-based historic island. It is originally called Changuu and was owned by a wealthy Arabian merchant who used it as a detention Centre for disobedient slaves during slavery. Under the Leadership of the third Sultan of Zanzibar, just after the abolition of slave trade in 1873, the prison whose first aim was to keep recalcitrant prisoners was constructed to keep the standing name ” PRISON ISLAND”. However, the Island was then used as the quarantine station of all of east African countries following the out break of cholera disease along the coast of East African coast where the victims were collected in different parts before being sent to changuu Island for further treatment.

The Island was also used as an accommodation site for those prisoners obtained from the Second World War. With its fantastic white sandy beach and spectacular natural forest teeming with variety of birds and small animals such peacocks and giant tortoise etc, the island is very famous for its richness in water based natural attractions hence it is among the best site for diving and snorkeling as well. Everything still exists, although most of them have become decrepit

 

Zanzibar’s first and only National Park is centered on Jozani  Forest,the largest area of mature forest found within Zanzibar. Jozani is a home for rare Red Colobus Monkeys which are rare species in the World, and mangrove forest With salt marshes. Also Zala Park is a small nature reserve Captive animals  exhibits include Tree hyraxes and variety of  Reptiles, such as Green tree snakes, Mambas and some big Pythons, Chameleons, Geckos, Tortoises, Striped Lizards And Monitor Lizards are included amongst the legged reptiles.

This half day excursion will take you to the southern west part of Zanzibar about one and half an hour driving from the historic stone town.The dolphin area, which is the Kizimkazi village areas, is an untouched village, and very historical village among the Zanzibar villages.

The only remaining old Mosque existing in Kizimkazi, evidences the existing of the Ancient Shirazi People who emigrated in Zanzibar from Persia. When you enter into this old mosque, you will find the Kufic inscription; the only evidence still remains to support the existence of Persians in Zanzibar.  The dolphin Tour starts by getting into our motorized boat so as to reach the dolphin zone which takes you only about five to ten minutes.

Two famous types of dolphins are frequently found, the black, and white dolphins. Unlike white dolphins, black dolphins are more friendly, and these are the one that tourist like to see. After swimming and playing with the very friendly dolphins for several hours you will be brought to the coral areas, and this is where you will enjoy and admit the richness of the Zanzibar Corals, and colorful fishes. An optional Lunch is provided in a local restaurant near the beach before getting’s back on board for a trip back to the hotel.

Safari Blue

Safari Blue is like but more than a day out activity and the classic Dolphin Tour. This excursion ideally permits the clients to sea the natural environment of specifically Menai Bay. The mangrove, Baobab tree, sand bank.

Zanzibar Fishing

Zanzibar is an interesting Tour for those who like to explore the traditional way of fishing. Unlike deep sea fishing, Zanzibar fishing uses all traditional equipment for fishing, wooden sailing dhow, etc.

The excursions start at 10h00 Am, and we leave the beach towards Prison and Bawe islands where the boat stop for fishing. Our well-experienced and dedicated fishermen will show you the fishing techniques, even if you have no knowledge of fishing, with our experienced fisherman, you will fish.

The Tours go further to the sandbank; you will stay at the sandbank while you eat your Zanzibari stylish Lunch, with soft drinks. This is a time when you will have an opportunity to do snorkeling around the sands bank to discover the wonderful Marine richness of our exotic island.

The tour terminates by exploring the sunset, while you return back to the beach.

The cooking Tour, this is an ideal excursion which is organised in a house ( Swahili Familly House), The Tour starts at the central market of Zanzibar, where with an assistance from our experienced and knowledgeable guide you will buy the cooking needs, such as spices, fishes fruits etc, the guide will show you the techniques of barganing the price, this is an adventurous event, as Zanzibaris do bargain in most of their shoppings. After the shopping at the market, you will take a a DALADALA. Daladala is a swahili name for Public transport (Buses), the daladala moves towards the Swahili House.

The cooking Tour is organised in the Swahili House, and our well experience and dedicated Swahili women will teach you all processes of preparing the Swahili cuisine. In this Tour, you as our client, will not only be an oberver, but a full participant  in cooking. You will be shown the cooking technics. After the cooking, you will seat and eat the lunch arround 14h00. To make the luch memories in your head you will eat the lunch while you are listening to a Taraab Music. The Taraab Music is the swahili music which has its origin from Egypt.After the lunch, we will take you back to the hotel, leaving unforgetable memoriries of Zanzibar Luch on you.

This Tour starts at 10:00 Am and will drive you towards Chwaka Village via Dunga village. Chwaka Village is located in the central Western part of the Island. The visit involves walking on foot for 5 Kilometers. The 5 Kilometers are divided into two parts 3 and 2 Kilometers. The first half is before arriving to Chwaka and the second half is after the Boat crossing in the Beautiful Bay of Chwaka.

The lunch is included in this excursion, and this is another chance to discover the Zanzibari Local food while you relaxe in the Michamvi Beach after a boat trip from Chwaka. You will experience as well the marine richness of the Zanzibar Island during your boat trip that will send you to the other side of the BAY at Michamvi. The variety of colored small fishes, mangrove swamp, and the beautiful view of the Chwaka Bay, are among the memories you are going to rest with during this excursion. The excursion ends around 17:00 afternoon, where our driver and guide will transfer you back to your hotel.
